Rustic and chic with a twist of cowboy boots. That’s how I’d describe the engagement session that Rachel and Mike had with me last year. It was such a blast and when Rachel showed up in a gorgeous dress and pumps and pulled a pair of cowboy boots out, I knew we were a fit. My cowboy boots (straight from the heart of Nashville!) are one of my most prized possessions. And so I knew their summer wedding at Candlewood Inn would have just the right touch of rustic cowboy and chic. Steffi and I were pretty excited as we headed out for their big day!
Rachel wowed me the minute I walked in when she pulled out a gorgeous pair of Kate Spade shoes … and they were ones I’d never shot before!

Rachel’s dress took my breath away. It made me really want to get married again so I could wear it. Perfect combo of lace, modern and vintage all in one.

Getting ready with a best friend and having a few minutes of quiet. LOVE.

And you all know this is my signature “when the bridesmaids see the bride for the first time” shot.

Quiet moments in church.

Cheers!

Rachel and Mike made a FABULOUS timeline for the day – they left us much more than the standard “cocktail hour of photos” and this allowed us to drive to a few cool locations and grab more than the average number of bridal photos. More time = possibility for more locations = better photos = amazingness!

And even after all that time, Rachel and Mike had left MORE time for photos of just them. Seriously – if you are a bride and making a timeline, consider this!

One really vintage edit because I just LOVED the way it looked.

Fabulously adorable wedding details.

Lots of laugher, dancing and insane joy!

Rachel then took Mike back outside to give him a few presents … including his argyle socks!

I’m ending with two of my favorite photos from the day … and to boot, they are black and white! Special thanks to Steffi who encourages me to step out of comfort zone and push for some cool night photos! I heart you Steffi!

Brooke we love the photos! You made us and or wedding look fabulous! We had a great time line but an amazing photographer also!
Gorgeous work! I LOVE the vintage edit – and that bridge/dock shot with the shoes is insanely perfect. xoox
