Boudoir
Connecticut Boudoir Photography – BOUDOIR BOUDOIR BOUDOIR!
FINALLY – I’ve set a date for a boudoir marathon! (I’m having trouble securing a hair and makeup person for Boston so for now, the only marathon is running locally here in CT!)
Hair and makeup is by the amazing Larissa Lake and there are some amazingly fun “sets” being put together. There are options to make “little black books” and I’m majorly channeling a few spreads in Vanity Fair for inspiration. EEK – so excited!
If you are interested, contact me ASAP – times available during the day for Sunday, January 22.
xoxo
BOUDOIR! ALBUMS! SORRY! / Connecticut and Boston Wedding Photographers
This is going to be a bizzarre blog post of updates!
CALLING ALL MY BOUDIORIANS! Spread the word – January sessions are being set and will all be on a Sunday. We will be doing the same set up where we gather all together for one big party and a hair and makeup artist will be on site. Perfect gift for Valentine’s Day! At this point they are in CT only (working on some Boston dates) but either way, if you want a session make sure you contact me NOW. I’ve had a list of interested ladies since fall and want to ensure everyone gets a spot.
To Christine, Cristina and Lauren – thank you for your PATIENCE. I owe you each a detailed blog post with photos and a story and I promise they are coming up! I was sick and making a few deadlines and hate rushing and putting up a quick blog post. We all know I love to talk, right?
Album deadlines for any of my 2011 brides is December 1! EEEEK. This means it has to be designed and submitted by then which is insanely soon. I’ve heard from everyone I think but if you want a book for the holidays, please make sure you get in contact with me today.

My boudoirians (yes, I love making up my own words) are some of the best, most amazing and super fun ladies I have ever met. They also are so supportive of me and I am so grateful for that! It seems they’ve been saying amazing things about Black Lace Boudoir … and so it’s time to open up another Sunday Marathon day of boudoir! I’ve only got two spots left for Sunday, April 3, so contact me if you are interested!

Little black books may not be super sexy … but the inside contents of these sure are! Excited to hear how the recipients of these books feel after this (Valentine’s Day) weekend! I’m opening up one (maybe two) more boudoir dates this spring due to amazing ladies that are interested in doing shoots of their own. Contact me if interested at info {at} brookeallisonphoto {dot} com.
CT Boudoir – January 23 / Connecticut and Boston Boudoir Photographer
This month has and will be a month of boudoir marathons. Our first marathon day of boudoir ran a few weekends ago and it was an amazing success! I was shocked at how the day ended up being like one big, ladies day! We had strangers all hanging out together and supporting each other … and just plain enjoying the experience. Our style of boudoir is pretty fun and includes 1.5 of hair and make-up by Amanda Brennan of Couture Coiffure. Nothing feels better than being pampered and made up. (I even snuck in on some of the fun and let Amanda throw my hair up for me early before anyone arrived!) I know I can go on about the day but figured I would let my amazing ladies share their personal feedback on the day. Before I do though, just a reminder that I have ONE spot left for the Connecticut Boudoir Marathon on January 23. Contact me if interested!
“I have always wanted to do a Boudoir session, just really never got around to it until now. I consider myself to be fairly shy, but also pretty uninhibited, if you can be both at the same time. So going into the shoot I knew, I was going all the way, no holding back, baring it all, but I was still nervous. Brooke and Amanda made me feel so comfortable, with supportive statements , being goofy and care free, and totally boosting my ego, while I was practically naked! I would recommend this to any woman, who wants to wow her husband, and even herself. I promise you will feel amazing afterwards, empowered.”
“First of all, you and Amanda are AMAZINGGGGG! Thank you for making the day so much fun! I loved the whole dynamic of the day, the hair, makeup, dress-up and pictures…it really was just a girlfriends day with a camera thrown in the mix. You made it so comfortable, I wasn’t worried about my hips showing or whatever problems us girls always think we have. It really is amazing how hair and makeup change you into another person, a more fun, flirty, even sexier girl.”
“Sunday was a blast, it was a lot easier then I thought it would be. I loved the fact that it was a safe environment to be sassy and your eye for a good shot can make anyone feel like a model behind the camera. I’m so glad I did this it’s an great opportunity to capture this moment in my life, I’ll be married in the fall and it is a once in a lifetime experience… You and Amanda made me feel like an old friend and I thank you for making the whole experience easy!”
“I had so much fun at the boudoir shoot on Sunday, I can’t thank you and Amanda enough! I loved how you were both so excited about the shoot. Amanda was fabulous on hair and make up (as I am a tough one to please being a hair and makeup artist myself) I would recommend her anytime! And you were so amazing with all of your ideas and poses I felt totally comfortable in my own skin, which I am usually very self conscious. Overall the whole day was a blast! I loved the fact that both of you were so easy to work with, had great ideas and were so laid back. Everything ran so smoothly and nothing was rushed. The time management was perfect! I would definitely recommend you both to anyone who is even thinking about doing a shoot! Also, your prices were SO reasonable for the time and quality of the shoot. I looked into doing a boudoir shoot before and it was almost $1,000.00 including the book with only a few pictures. When I heard about your prices I couldn’t believe it and had to jump on the opportunity! The hair, make up and pictures came out amazing and hope I will get the chance to work with you again in the future. Thank you so much again!”
“Thank you again for Sunday!! I went into the Boudoir shoot so nervous and not knowing what to expect. From the moment I got there until the time I left I did not stop smiling! I had so much fun shooting with you! I am still in shock of how amazing Amanda made me look. I love how comfortable you made me feel while shooting. Looking back at the experience I’m so glad I did it and would definitely do it again! You are so talented and I’m so grateful that I have met you! I cannot wait to work with you again in September! Thank you again to you and Amanda on the fabulous job you guys did!”
Most importantly, don’t forget the best part of these marathons – you bring a friend (or two) along. Nothing is better than hanging out with your friends and drinking champagne.

If you have ever debated doing these, I strongly encourage you to take the leap and go for it! I was recently told by a happy recipient of a little black book of boudoir photos that he “could not stop looking at the photos” and thought his wife was “so amazingly gorgeous!” Ladies, ladies, ladies – I just don’t think you realize what your special someone thinks when they see the photos; it’s like their wildest dream right in front of their eyes!
Um, can we talk about the hanger? I am obsessed! Surprise to come about this amazing business soon!
