Our first meeting was anything but glamorous. We met at a Target Starbucks and if I remember correctly, it was raining and my hair looked awful. Just plain awful. It’s a miracle that my hair didn’t scare Melissa away. Luckily and it didn’t and we clicked right away.
Melissa is a lover of photography and a budding photographer herself so it was really fun to work with her. She understood why it is so important that brides heed my advice and really plan enough time to have the photos they want. This doesn’t mean giving me 3 hours for formals; this means thinking about what photos and things you want to ensure you capture and planning the time to enjoy all of the day … from the first photo to the last. Photography on the day of the wedding should not take over the day – but it should be thought about ahead of time, especially for brides who are sure of what they want. Melissa was one of those brides! She knew she wanted photos while getting ready and had a lot of fun things for me to shoot. Her mantra the entire day seemed to be “whatever you want brooke, you’re the boss.” Melissa, I love you. Please teach that slogan to my dogs.
I went crazy formatting all these element shots and haven’t even started on the gorgeous one of Melissa and Jeremy! More to follow when I get back from … CALIFORNIA! If you are reading this, I’m most likely on a jetblue flight across the country, about to meet my photography idol, eating munchies mix and drinking sprite and most importantly, watching tv on the plane. See you when I return next Thursday!
*don’t forget: I’m still reachable by mobile 617.548.8928 and firstname.lastname@example.org – just remember it’s going to be in the 70′s this weekend and I plan to enjoy a cocktail or two so the response may be a bit delayed. XOXO
