I’ve allowed the holidays to be an excuse for long enough — time to catch up. The site is finally live (Yay, Becky!) and I’m making my top New Year’s resolution be to make time for blogging! I’ve got to start sharing the fun things I’ve been able to shoot and the great people I’m working with.
Soooo…. this new week will be a fall catch up. Yes, I know; it’s not fall anymore and winter is underway but that’s ok — I’m excited to share some of the pictures I took this past fall. As of next week I will be caught up and will try to stick to my resolution…
This shoot was done in November although it seems like forever ago looking at the bright sun and green grass in the pictures. Erin found me through my craigslist posting and she was so much fun to work with. I feel like I am continually saying this but it’s true; I’m meeting such amazing people with this new business. I feel utterly blessed. Anyway, Erin came with many ideas of what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to share. Let me tell all of you folks out there looking to hire a photographer — I love when you come with ideas! I’ve already got my vision long before I arrive at a shoot. And of course, upon meeting the client and chatting, sometimes my vision changes slightly. But for the most part, I come ready to take a variety of shots that already exist in my head. So I love it when someone can bring up something they are hoping for and we can go for it. Erin did just that. When I finished shooting around and felt satisfied, I told her that this was her chance to tell me what she had been hoping for that I hadn’t done already. She came up with a few shots and then I convinced her (Erin, I swear you are the coolest chick ever for letting me do this) to let me shoot her violin on the grass and walkway. Everyone who saw the shots asked the same thing – “She let you put her violin on the grass?!” If you are looking for an amazing violinist for an event, party or wedding — check her out! And what’s even cooler is her husband is oober talented too and they often perform as a duo. A.m.a.z.i.n.g.

[...] only thing sweeter than a little baby, is a little baby on the way. You may remember this sweet momma-to-be from a shoot long, long ago. So happy to catch up with her and her hubby and celebrate a sweet baby [...]
