It all started with a photography workshop in 2011 … I met Miss Whitney Bower. We spent months after the workshop chatting and then one day she had a wedding in Nashville that she needed a second shooter for and … hazaa! (insert new silly word I must incorporate into my life.) I was on my way to Nashville to shoot for her.
With the start of the new year I’m taking time to breathe a little … and close my eyes … and nap … and daydream a bit. My mind wandered this morning to some of the happiest times I’ve had since changing careers and becoming a photographer. I immediately flashed to Nashville and realized I’d never blogged or even shared a single photo! So – a huge thanks to Miss Whitney Bower for not only inviting me along but happily letting me share my images. Your friendship, feedback and adorable southern snorts make me head over heels in love with you and I feel so grateful that with all the people in the world, we found our way to the same workshop and met.
Meet Karson + Philip. They were my first southern wedding. And I just about died from all the southern deliciousness. We started at the Hermitage Hotel.

A southern wedding wouldn’t be complete with out some monogrammed sweetness. And we all know I.LOVE.MONOGRAMS.

Karson had two dresses – one is below and I’m keeping it a secret until you see it on her later in this post – the other was her grandmother’s.

Her grandmother’s dress … it was in perfect condition and the most gorgeous silk sheath dress I’ve ever seen.

Miss Whitney shooting … some Badgley Mischka’s.

I got to sneak away for time with the men, too.

Somehow an impromptu game of Yahtzee began.

They wanted this shot so I obliged. And almost got hit my a car. (I have got to remember standing in the middle of traffic is not.smart.at.all.)

First look at the Hermitage Hotel. YES, PLEASE.

Philip showing off his suspenders … his gift from Karson.

I love when a man checks out his woman and looks THRILLED. Very, very thrilled.

Karson literally took my breath away. I have a MAJOR weakness for shooting redheads. I just think they are GORGEOUS. And her facial expressions were to.die.for.

My two favorite photos of the entire day. Hermitage Hotel DID NOT DISAPPOINT.

A lutheran church that looks like this? No.freaking.way. As a Lutheran myself, I was DYING over this church.

Karson changed into her grandmother’s dress for the ceremony.

The top right photo is a card talking about the protest/sit-ins going on at the War Memorial. There were tents everywhere but at least its a good wedding weekend memory!

A full choir, too. My heart just about died from happiness.

War Memorial was super cool and we took advantage of shooting outside … even if it was the winter and freezing!

I ADORE these two photos … their faces are too sweet.

These photos make me giggle … don’t step on your ladies dress, dudes.

good night from Nashville!
